Someone should have called and told me the site was off. Anyway, I got home from the beach to find us down. We should be good now.

Right before the weekend I uploaded the GasCap, just to find that the server was clogged with that horrible spam/virus email again. over 10gig of it. There has to be someway of killing it before it gets to the server, but the address are random and no filter I've tried has worked. I'll have to just check the server once a month and manually delete it before it gets too big. I deleted it once again and straightened out the database errors caused by the stuffed hard drive.

When I returned from the beach, I saw we were still getting DB errors so I swung in to find us offline. I called the host and got things straightened out. I just went in the fixed the last of the DB errors. Looks like I missed one on Friday.

Let me know if there are anymore issues.

Bill, please don't hesitate to call my cell when something like this happens. I bring my laptop with me everywhere for just this sort of problem.

Bill called to tell me about the problems so I shot come and just deleted the mail again. :( another 10 gig of junk. that must be where the server cuts us off.

this is ridiculous. there has to be a way to stop this bombardment. it's crippling the server.

let me know if you see any error messages. it's possible the databes is corrupt again.

yep, you guessed it, another 10 gig of junk mail killed the server. AHAHAH!!!! I deleted the mail and repaired the DB. It was really bad. Over half the DB was corrupt this time. I hope we didn't lose anything.

Just received an email from the host yesterday saying it's time for us to renew. lets move instead.

We have been receiving between 150-500 virus e-mails and SPAM on our server each day, most coming from China. :(

just cleared it again. this is the worst it's been. 3 times in the same month. the board appproved the change and I'll be shopping for a host that can deal with this

cleared it again and fixed the db. by the way, I cleared it about a week ago as well, but never posted about it. :(

tyhe db seems a little screwy. if you get an error hit refresh and it will load.

I've been given permission to find a new host and upgrade our message board software so we will only have to deal with these issues a little longer

to take a highlighted article off the homepage, go to that thread and near the bottom right find the admin/mod thread options dropdown and choose " edit thread / posts". from the next screen uncheck the "make news item" field and submit the form.

I just deleted 10.5 meg of mail. this move can't come soon enough
