I'm wondering if you know of any pads that will fit on the hydraulic jack round base and form fit the Vette's jack area so as to reduce any damage potential while jacking the car up? Is there such a thing?

Not sure. I have a Sears hydrolic jack that has a round plate at the piont of contact with the car. I wondered if there was something that would accommodate the jack area on the side of the car? Or should I be jacking the car up I be jacking the car up in another area altogether?

There are two spots on each side where you can jack. If you look at the lip that sticks down from the rocker panel you will find upward pointing arrows. It also says "jacking location " between the arrows but I'm not sure on that. However if you don't want to jack there there are a couple of options. I usually jack the the front up under the k frame member in the front. You have to get the car up high enough to get a jack under. If you want to just jack one side up there is a spot on the frame just behind the front wheel you can jack from. Jacking the rear up can be a pain if you you don't want to jack on the factory spots. Several companies make a pad that has about a 1/4" plate welded vertically to the pad that slips in the jack. That plate goes between the exhaust pipe to contact the rear. You can get both sides up at the same time. I'm told that that works really well. If you have a convert you can jack up each side where the X frame bolts to the frame. I catch the outer bolt heads with the jack and pump it up. BTW I notched out a piece of wood to jack up on the factory jacking points and that works well also.

Thanks, I was thinking about notching out a piece of wood. I appreciate the advice.
